Therapy Area- Anti-Diabetic

Mode of action - Dapagliflozin is an inhibitor of SGLT2. By inhibiting SGLT2, dapagliflozin reduces reabsorption of filtered glucose and thereby promotes urinary glucose excretion. Dapagliflozin also reduces sodium reabsorption and increases the delivery of sodium to the distal tubule.

Dapatop is a medicine of dapagliflozin mainly used to treat type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin known as a sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It lowers blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. It does this by helping remove excess sugar from your body through your pee.

Sometimes it can be used together with insulin to treat type 1 diabetes. Dapagliflozin is usually prescribed for type 2 diabetes if you cannot take metformin.
